Yuba–Sutter to Auburn via Lincoln
Leave the First Watch on foot, move through the agricultural corridor, carry the Watch into Lincoln for a brief community stop, then continue through Newcastle to Auburn for the Day 1 overnight and formal stop.
Day 1 objective: sleep in Auburn
Lincoln remains meaningful without becoming the overnight destination. A short community stop preserves momentum and positions Day 2 at the doorstep of the Sierra.
McBean Memorial Park
65 McBean Park Drive, Lincoln
Lincoln is designated The First Community to Receive the Watch. McBean Memorial Park is the proposed gathering point because it is a central community park on the eastbound movement corridor toward SR-193.

Cycle appropriate rural portions; increase the bicycle distance only when the reviewed route and conditions support it.
Use safe support movement where a human-powered route is not approved, especially the Newcastle-to-Auburn connection.

The RV can move ahead to Auburn. A follow vehicle remains with the traveling team, and the motorcycle provides flexible movement where conditions or road design make walking or cycling unsuitable. Weather, physical condition, and public-safety direction govern each transition.
Lincoln officials should review the approach, McBean Park Drive bridge construction, and eastbound departure. The Newcastle-to-Auburn segment requires an appropriate parallel/local route or motorcycle/support movement; bicycling on I-80 is not planned. Exact streets, crossings, shoulders, permits, construction, traffic control, and arrival time remain subject to agency review.
