Day 1 working route · WP-001 → WP-002
Yuba City to Lincoln
Leave the First Watch on foot, bicycle through the agricultural communities between Yuba–Sutter and Lincoln, then carry the Watch Torch on foot into the first receiving community.
Day 1: completed under your own power
The national highway corridor guides the campaign. This human-powered route prioritizes the mission’s symbolism and rural roads that can be evaluated for walking and cycling.
The public First Mile and additional walking as conditions and participation allow.
Cycle the agricultural communities from the Yuba City outskirts through Sheridan toward Lincoln.
Leave the bicycle outside Lincoln and carry the Watch Torch into the receiving community.
The RV can move ahead to Lincoln. A follow vehicle remains with the traveling team, and the motorcycle stays available for contingencies. The goal, if weather and physical condition permit, is to complete Day 1 entirely under human power.
Before April 2027, local traffic and public-safety officials should review the exact streets, crossings, shoulders, construction conditions, support procedures, and permit requirements. Placer County’s Sheridan bikeway planning material provides useful context, but it is not approval of this route.
